    Course Descriptions

Cosmos offers A Level qualifications in Science, Management and Humanities (Liberal Arts) Streams. In any stream, out of Eleven different subjects COSMOS has been offering in A and AS level qualifications, students will have to choose his combination of at least four subjects from the list of subjects given. The subject content of each A Level syllabus is divided into two parts- the AS level syllabus content, which is expected to be covered in the first half of the course, and A2, the second part of the syllabus.

English Language and Literature


Cambridge International A & AS Levels in English Language and Literature in English are accepted by Universities and employers as proof of knowledge and understanding.

General Paper

 

The General Paper is the compulsory subject for the students of both Science and Non-Science Stream. The course is multi-disciplinary in its nature. However it is not a test of general knowledge. The subject matters are drawn from across the curriculum. The syllabus encourages in students the ability to make cross-curricular links; to develop a maturity of thought appropriate to students at this level; and to achieve an understanding and usage of the English language which enables them to express arguments, ideas and opinions in a reflective and academic manner. One 2-hour question paper will be set in the exam. Questions will be general in nature, demanding discussion and evaluation. Response should normally be in the range of 500-600 words. Key to success in General Paper is that students should gather information related to the syllabus as much as possible. For that, they can download the information from the Internet, and they should be equally aware with political, social, geographical, philosophical, cultural, economic and scientific issues and problems. Finally students must convey information or opinion in a way that is thoughtful, perceptive and intelligible to the reader.

Physics

 

Cambridge International A/AS Level Physics syllabus aims to develop abilities and skills that are relevant to the study and practice of science.  The course is designed to place greater emphasis on the understanding and application of scientific concepts and principles than on the recall of factual material. It stimulates interest in, and cares for, the environment in relation to the environmental impact of Physics and its applications. A/AS Level Mathematics includes different branches of mathematics like Pure Mathematics, Mechanics and Statistics proportionately. CIE has designed the Computing syllabus keeping in light that students will utilize the skill and knowledge in one of three ways:
