It’s different here-studying at COSMOS

Studying at COSMOS is really different. The courses are more student-oriented. “Students learn by themselves” is our motto. You take responsibility for your own learning - you’re in charge. As you go through the course, you will not only become an effective independent learner, you will also develop a whole range of vital skills that will be so important to discover yourself and prepare your future career.

Students have access to abundant information and resources to develop their knowledge and confidence in A-Level subjects. More than that, I like the friendly atmosphere here and the welcoming attitude of all the staff whether they’re academic or not. COSMOS is a great place and I would recommend it for anyone who is really aspiring to take international education for worthwhile academic and professional pursuit.”

There will be lectures for relatively small number of students ranging form 20 to 25, where you can discuss things with your teachers and fellow students. Depending on your course, you may also have field trips, research projects, seminars, laboratory or practical works. So you see, A- level education is not so boring or so challenging. The big bonus is that you will learn different skills to organize rest your life around your studies and to make everyday more systematic.

I really enjoy the interaction with students when I am teaching. Our strategy is designed to ensure that all students, whatever their subject, will have developed a range of key study skills so they can be independent, broad minded, creative, and make most of the time into studies.”

Hi I’m Andy from New York, USA. I have been living in Pokhara for the past 20 years and I’ve taught ESL (English as a Second Language) at various universities for much of that time.

I’ve recently joined Cosmos International College with the aim of helping students improve their English ability through supplemental classes. In my Pokhara experience the primary need is spoken English. So one of my major challenges as an instructor here is to facilitate the improvement of students’ ability to express themselves well in English. As much as possible we would like to accomplish this in a fun way; sometimes we will watch a movie or a TV show together and immediately after discuss it: no deep analysis, but just sharing your emotional response as you would with a good friend.

Starting in the fall we plan to offer on a regular basis courses like Public Speaking and Composition Writing, not to mention programs like IELTS and TOEFL, for those who aspire to study abroad.

We guarantee that you will be introduced to materials and methods that are unavailable anywhere else in Pokhara. For a sneak preview drop by before June 20th and we can have a chat. I look forward to meeting you in the near future.”
