Delivered at Cosmos International College, Pokhara, the Advanced Level programme is considered the ‘gold standard’ of Cambridge International Education qualifications. A Levels

Examination

The AS and A Levels final examinations are held twice a year in May/June and October/November, and the results are published in August and January, respectively.

Students are assessed on a grade scale from A* to E. U stands for ungraded, which is considered a fail.

Eligibility for the A Levels

Cosmos International College employs a comprehensive evaluation process to select a highly motivated and capable group of students for the A Level programme in Pokhara.

Minimum Qualification

SEE/GCSE/CBSE or equivalent.

Academic Strength

Demonstrated strong academic ability for a challenging programme.

Entrance Examination

Must pass an entrance examination conducted by the college.

Interview

Must attend an interview with a parent/guardian.

Non-Science Stream
  • Overall GPA: 2.2 or above
  • Minimum Subject Grade: D+ in Social, Maths, Science, English and Nepali
Science Stream
  • Overall GPA: 2.4 or above
  • Maths & Science: C+ (minimum)
  • Other Subjects: D+ in Social, English and Nepali

Flexible Subject Choices

Students are free to study a range of subjects, as we believe that giving students the power to choose helps to motivate them throughout their studies.

Students must study three full subjects as well as the English General Paper throughout the two years of A Level. This is because the standard admission requirement for UK universities is three A Levels.

Students who have appeared for or completed their SEE (Grade 10), CBSE, O Levels, or any equivalent recognised board are eligible to apply for the A Level programme in Pokhara.
